Raymond Larry Carson

Raymond "Ray" Larry Carson, 77, of China Grove, passed away September 17, 2023 at Atrium Health Cabarrus.
He was born April 15, 1946 in Havre de Grace, MD to the late Author Raymond Carson and Evelyn Ivey Carson.
Ray retired from the U.S Capitol Police after 29 years and worked for Robert E Evan's Funeral Home for ten years after his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, antiques, trips to the beach with his family, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by sister Vonda Lee Armstrong, and infant sister Luneal Carson.
Those left to cherish his memory, his wife of 53 years Patricia Louise Barefoot Carson, one son Robert Carson and wife Leanne, three grandchildren James, Chase, and Emma Carson.
Memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Crown Pointe Baptist Church.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, or Crown Point Baptist Church.
