Raymond “Dale” Drye, 62, of Salisbury, passed away Sunday morning, December 18, 2022, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. He had been in declining health, but death was unexpected.
Born August 6, 1960, in Troy, NC, he was a son of George Raymond Drye and the late Ruby Elizabeth Donahue Drye.
Dale had been a loyal employee of Freightliner for more than 15 years, where he was affectionately known as Bulldog. He was a Dallas Cowboy, NASCAR and Joey Logona fan. A loving father, grandfather, brother and friend, Dale will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.
Family members left to cherish his memory include his children, Cameron Drye and Jessica Hardy; his girlfriend, Kristie Clark; his step mother, Judy Drye; son-in-law, Josiah Fleming; his brother, Darrel Drye; half-brother, Kenneth Drye; step-sisters, Diane Devoe, Donna Baker and Paula Burgess; step brother, David Carpenter, his much-loved grandchildren, McKenzie Hardy, Uriah, Serenity and Jenesis Fleming, and extended family members.
A memorial service to remember and celebrate Dale’s life will begin at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 7, 2023, at New Beginning Community Worship Center, 1914 Central Avenue, Kannapolis, NC.
The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
