Obituary: Reba Winecoff Coggins, 91, passed away Friday, May 18, 2012 at University Place in Charlotte. Mrs. Coggins was born October 12, 1920 in Cabarrus County to the late Floyd H. and Vivian H. Winecoff. She was married to the late Martin Coggins who preceded her in 2006. Reba was a graduate of Cannon High School; was a Tack Welder for Curtis Bay Shipbuilders during the W.W. II; worked for Cannon Mills and retired from Electrolux in 1982. Reba was a longtime active member of Center Grove Lutheran Church where she was a nursery school assistant teacher. Survivors include a daughter, Tyna Brackwell and husband Edwin of Alpharetta, GA; a son, Larry Coggins and his wife Judy of Concord; six grandchildren, Stephanie Sumner (Joe), Amber Moffatt, Mark Bracknell, Jennifer Stocks (Michael), Niki Nixon (Brian), and Marty Coggins (Melissa Acla); Eleven great grandchildren; and a sister, Johnsie Brown. A funeral service will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Center Grove Lutheran Church with Pastor Loyd Ginn officiating. Burial will follow in the Center Grove Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2:00-3:00 P.M. prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Center Grove Lutheran Church 1601 S. Cannon Blvd. Kannapolis, NC 28083 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Charlotte Region; 1420 E. 7th St. Charlotte, NC 28204.
