Rebecca Ann Cranford Byrd

Obituary: Rebecca Ann Cranford Byrd, 75, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Saturday February 14 at CMC/NE after a long period of declining health. She was born December 14, 1939 in Cabarrus County the daughter of the late Albert Cranford and the late Katie Harris Cranford. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands; late Larry Yow in 1970 and late Joe Byrd in 1981 and a son David Yow in 1976. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital for several years from where she retired. She then worked as a baker for the Kannapolis City Schools. She loved to eat out with family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling to the mountains and to the beach with her church group. Survivors include Daughter; Jean Troutman (Rick) of Altavista, Va. Sons; Mark Yow (Melissa) of China Grove, Kenny Yow (Lisa) and Darrell Yow (Angel) both of Kannapolis. 7 Grand-children; 9 Great grand-children. She is also survived by 3 sisters; Mae Morton of Burlington, Joyce Mullis, Reedsville, Va. and Lynn Barbee of Concord. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, February 18 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Morris officiating. The family will receive friends following the Memorial service. The rest of the time the family will be at the home of son Mark Yow in China Grove. Memorials may be made to St. Stephen's Wesleyan Church, 7601 Brusharbor Road, Concord, NC, 28025.

Service: A memorial service will take place at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel.
