Obituary: Rebecca "Becky" Marlin, 70, of Concord went to her Heavenly Home on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 from CHS-NorthEast Med. Center after a brief illness. A memorial service to celebrate Becky's life will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, February 24, at Whitley's Funeral Home. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Sunday. Becky was born April 23, 1948 in Cabarrus Co., a daughter of the late Henry and Thelma Gibson Bullock. In addition to her parents, Becky was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil David "Johnnie" Marlin and her sister, Shirley Inostroza. She was a lifelong area resident and long-time member of Universal Baptist Church. She had a long standing career in the floral business where she worked at many of the local florists in town as well as working within her own. When most people saw Becky's floral work, they knew it was a gift from God. Becky was also an accomplished musician who had an impeccable voice and played piano for many churches. She had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her dog, Millie. Becky loved and enjoyed doing activities with her children and her family. Those left to cherish her memory include her sons; Alan David "Little Johnnie" Marlin of Concord and Joseph Thomas Drake (Jennifer) of Landrum SC and her daughters; Regina "Gina" Drake Boger (William) of Concord and Meredith Marlin Mills (Casey) of Pageland, SC . She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, her sister, Henrietta Patterson of Burlington and her fiancée, Bill Readling of Concord.
