Reece Richard Hatley Sr., 87, of Kannapolis passed Friday, August 13, 2021 at his home.
He was born September 17, 1933 in Stanley Co. to the late Silas Martin Hatley and Beedie Mae Austin Hatley.
Reece was a veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean War, he received an associate's degree in industrial management, he worked as a supervisor at Cannon Mills, Reece was a member of He's Alive Church, he was also a member of the VFW and enjoyed going as often as he could, he also enjoyed his coffee and cigarettes, and also he liked bargain shopping, but most of all he loved his family and spending time with the grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marion Davis Hatley in 2006 and a son Richard Hatley Jr. in 1999.
Those left to cherish his memory; daughter Crystal Seamon (Mark) of Kannapolis, grandchildren, Ashley Corn (Nick), Savannah Seamon, Alexandra Seamon, and great grandchildren, Wyatt Lydia and Caiden.
Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday August 17, 2021 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel, with Tony Wagoner officiating.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 5-6 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 11:00 AM, Rev. Jon Harless officiating with military honors.
