Regina Gaynelle (Bullock) Warfield

Regina B. Warfield, born Regina Gaynell Bullock, 61 of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on December 12, 2022 following a period of declining health.

Regina was born on April 29, 1961 to Joel Bullock and Gaynell Funderburk in Concord, NC.  Shortly after graduating from A.L. Brown High School in ’79, she enlisted in the US Air Force, serving for 5 years until being discharged in 1986.  During her service she met her would-be husband of 31 years, Jeff Warfield and were married on December 22, 1988 and together had one son, Jason.

Regina pursued a career of apartment management, working locally for properties such as The Ridges and those owned by the late David Drye until a chronic health issue forced her into life as a stay-at-home mother.

Originally a childhood attendee of Calvary Baptist Church in Kannapolis, as an adult she found great happiness in helping children in the Awana Program at both Calvary and Gospel Lighthouse Baptist Church.  She also was quick to help anyone in need in any way she was able.  Over the past year, she enjoyed attending Ben Avenue Free Will Baptist Church near her home, with her friend, Sylvia.

Regina was predeceased by her father, Joel, as well as her step-father, Wayne Funderburk.  She is survived by her mother, Gaynell, and brothers Dale Bullock (Kannapolis), Terry Bullock (Kannapolis), Brian Comer (Kannapolis), and step-brother, Phillip (Carolina Beach).  She is also survived by ex-husband Jeff Warfield (Kannapolis), son Jason Warfield (Wendell), grandsons Parker, Cooper, Hunter, and a granddaughter, Skyler.

Services will be facilitated by Whitley’s Funeral Home, and take place on Monday, December 19, 2022 at Calvary Baptist Church located at 703 Buick Avenue in Kannapolis.  There will be a viewing at 1 pm, followed by a memorial service at 2 pm.  There will not be a graveside service.
