Reta (Gainey) Wilson

Reta Gainey Wilson, 66 of Mt. Pleasant went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at her residence following a period of declining health.

Reta was born July 23, 1954 in Chesterfield County, S.C. a daughter of the late Bennie Gainey Windburn. She was also preceded in death by her siblings John A Galloway, Evelyn Tyner and Jackie Watford.

Reta was a daycare and care giver as long as her health permitted. She then was a homemaker.

She was a devoted Christian and dearly loved her family. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing cards.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Wilson will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Mr. Jerry Starr. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. At other times they will be at the residence of a daughter Gena Rogers of Kannapolis.

Survivors include on son, Kenneth Wilson (Denise) of M. Pleasant, three daughters; Gena Rogers (Ben) of Kannapolis, Becky Starr (Jerry) of Mooresville and Debby Morton of Kannapolis. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
