Rev. Carol Ted Davis

Obituary: Rev. Carol Ted Davis, 84, of Kannapolis, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Tucker Hospice House following a period of declining health. Ted was born November 30, 1933 in Union County, NC a son of the late Curtis Vance Davis and the late Jessie Lois Nash Davis. He was also preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Emily Menius. Ted was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War Era. He was employed by Gulledge Building Supply as a carpenter for 45 years. He was ordained as a Pastor in 1975. He had served as supply pastor in several churches and associate pastor at Sunrise Freewill Baptist Church. He later was Pastor of First Freewill Baptist Church in China Grove. He will always be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father and a grandfather. Ted enjoyed fishing, watching racing, gardening and going to the beach with his family. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held 1:30 P.M. Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Piedmont Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Mike Edwards. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park with military graveside rites conducted by the Rowan County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 11:30 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. At other times they will be at the residence. Survivors left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years; Nancy Marilyn Puckett Davis of the Home, one son, Lee Davis of Kannapolis, three daughters; Tammy Rorie of Salisbury, Sherry Menius, Kimberly Sutherland and husband Frank, all of Kannapolis. Three brothers, Curtis Davis and wife Mildred, Bobby Davis and wife Betty, and Tommy Davis and wife Janice all of Kannapolis. He is also survived by six grandchildren; Tim, Ashlee, Travis, Courtney, Kyler, and Beverly, nine great grandchildren; Britney, Gavin, Summer, Jaxon, Krimson, Chance, Gabriel, Emery and Tre and one great great grandchild, Adalyn. "The family would like to give special thanks to Unity UMC for their meal deliveries, Kindred Home Health Residential Care and the Salisbury VA Medical Center for their love and care shown to Ted during his illness." The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081 and to Piedmont Baptist Church, 5870 Wright Rd, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
