Darrell Coble, 89, of Concord, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024.
Darrell was born on May 21, 1935, in Troy, NC. He was a cherished son of the late Paul and Louise Coble. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Paul and Harvey Coble; brother-in-law Wayne Wilhoit.
Darrell served in the Airforce and was stationed in Korea. He loved his country and took great pride in his service.
Following his service in the air force, he entered into seminary where he followed God’s calling to become a minister. He retired after serving at Parkwood as senior pastor for 35 ½ years. He knew his purpose was to serve the Lord. He did this in everything, every day. He was a minister, a husband, a father, and a friend. He was loved dearly by many because he first loved them. He had a heart for spreading the gospel. He touched many lives and led many souls to the Lord during his me on this earth. He witnessed without saying a word.
Darrell loved his watches, electronics, and yard work. He spent many Saturdays doing yard work for elderly people in the community during his early years at Parkwood. He loved laughter; he thought it was the best medicine. He used it to connect with all people and be a witness of God’s love.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Phyllis, daughters Paula (Trent
Bost) and Phoebe (Bobby Thore); grandchildren, Jill Troutman (Glenn Troutman),
Daniel Thore (Katrina Thore), Nicholas Thore (Krissy Hines), Tanner Bost (Madison Bost), Carson Bost (Bree Bost) and Parker Thore; great grandchildren, London and Luke Troutman, Malia and Hayes Thore, Harper Thore, and Rowdyn Bost; brother Bernard (Lois Coble); sisters Peggy Clark (Eldridge Clark), Corneilus Perry (Steve Perry) and Brenda Wilhoit.
Funeral Service for Rev. Darrell Coble will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Parkwood Baptist Church, 1069 Central Dr NW, Concord, NC 28027. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis.
