Rev. Richard Horn

Obituary: Rev. Richard Whitehead Horn, 82, of Kannapolis passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at his home. He was born November 14, 1933 in Pittsburg, Pa., the son of the late Luther and Amanda Hess Horn. Rev. Horn was a pastor for 53 years where he pastored churches in Tennessee, Georgia and North Carolina, including Landis Baptist Church for over 23 years. He was a former member of the Army National Guard. Presently, he was a member of Skyland Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at Landis Baptist Church at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 20, 2016 officiated by Rev. David Snow, Rev. Dennis Morgan and Rev. Aaron Wall. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Landis Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Wanda Raye Dycus Horn, 3 daughters, Mary Horn Snow (David) of Concord, Martha Horn Stewart (Robby) of Elon, and Joy Horn Rivenbark (Rodney) of Kannapolis, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and his sister, Ann Childers of Atlanta.
