Obituary: Rev. Richard Lynn Jordan, 69, of Mooresville died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010 at his home. He was born August 29, 1941 in Randleman, NC, the son of the late Carson and Ola Mae Rivers Jordan. He was preceded in death by a brother, LeGrande "Pee Wee" Jordan. He was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School, Trevecca Nazarene University and Awarded Doctorate of Divinity from Olivet Nazarene University. He pastored churches in Wilmington and Hickory, as well as West Memphis, Arkansas and Valparaiso, Indiana. He served as District Superintendent of the Northwest Indiana District Church of the Nazarene for 8 years and on the Central Ohio District Church of the Nazarene for 13 years until retiring in 2008. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Tim Throckmorton, Rev. Charles Savage and Rev. Herb Zuercher. Burial will be private at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Whitley's. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda Lambert Jordan, his children Robin (Bill) Klakamp of Columbus, In., Rick (Cheryl) Jordan of Portage, In., and Amie (Dave) Neeley of Orient, Ohio, his grandchildren Jordan and Joshua Klakamp, Meagan, Rachel, Nicholas and Christopher Jordan, Katie, Samuel and Noah Miller, his great-grandson Gavin Klakamp, and his two sisters Evelyn Ballard of China Grove and Betty Stack of Kannapolis.
