Rev. Darren Sanders

Obituary: Rev. Darren E. Sanders, 45, of Concord passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at his home. He was born December 8, 1967 in Cabarrus County, the son of Bill and Linda Billings Sanders. He was preceded in death by grandmother, Emma Garmon and his father-in-law Gilbert Fields. Darren graduated from A.L. Brown High School. He was a talented musician and vocalist. He served as the founding Music Director at Charity Baptist Church for many years. He was presently the Pastor at Northwest Baptist Church for the last four years. Darren had a passion for the ministry and music but most of all for his family. He was an avid golfer enjoying playing with his sons and grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Charity Baptist Church officiated by Rev. R.J. Hammond and Rev. Terry Brown. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 PM Sunday prior at church. He is survived by his wife, Renee Fields Sanders, his three children; Joshua Darren Sanders, Justin Caleb Sanders and wife Alisha, Jessica Renee Sanders and fiancé Jordan Burke, three grandchildren; Jayden Daniel, Jayden Caleb and Elijah Blake Sanders, four sisters; Donna White, Denise Webb, Donya Sloop and Danelle Howard, his mother-in-law, Evelyn Fields and his entire church family at Northwest Baptist Church. The family would like to give special thanks to the congregations of Northwest Baptist Church and Charity Baptist Church for the love and care shown the Sanders family.
