Obituary: Rev. Robert "Jeff " Jefferson Simpson, 41, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House, Salisbury following a short illness. Jeff was born October 31, 1972 in Cabarrus County, NC son of Billy Jefferson Simpson of Sanford, NC and the late Brenda Gail Simmons Simpson. He was a 1990 graduate of Gospel Light Christian School and received his Bachelor's Degree in theology from Tabernacle Baptist College in Greenville, SC and Carolina Bible College in Midland; where he served as Dean. He and his wife were the first missionaries sent out thru the Beam's Bible Ministry for four years' service. Jeff served as Pastor of Memorial Independent Baptist Church in Landis for the last twelve years. He had been in the ministry for 25 years. His family knew him as a man of God, and a wonderful husband and father. He was a mentor to many. He believed in living each day as if it were his last. Jeff loved riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family and friends. Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Bright Light Baptist Church, 960 Old Charlotte Road, Concord conducted by Rev. Curtis Gibson, Rev. Ronnie Simpson and Rev. Chris Cantrell. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Bright Light Baptist Church Monday night from 5:00-8:00 P.M. At other times they will be at the residence. Survivors, in addition to his father; include his wife of 21 years, Stephanie Simpson of the home, two sons, Timothy and Jared Simpson both of the home, two daughters; Rachel Simpson of the home, and Esther Newsome (Adam) of Wilkesboro. He is also survived by one sister, DeAnna Lear (Harold) of Kannapolis, and two nephews; Zeke and Elijah. The family requests that in Lieu flowers, memorials be made to the Beam's Bible Ministry, P.O.
