Rev. Don Noblitt, 94, of Kannapolis, went into his heavenly home on Sunday, September 18, 2022.
Don was born on December 20, 1927 in Pickens County, SC to the late James Greer Noblitt and Marie Dunwoody. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Shinn Noblitt in 2014, his son, Marcus Noblitt; and all 5 of his siblings.
Rev. Don Noblitt faithfully fulfilled his calling as a Pastor, having ministered at 19 different United Methodist Churches in the Western NC Conference. He was a kind-hearted man, who truly loved people and loved sharing the Gospel with them. He knew how to bring people together and bring out the best in people. He genuinely embodied living by the Golden Rule. He dearly loved his family and especially his wife Ruth, who was truly a teammate in ministry. Christmas was always dear to his heart and the family cherishes the memory of him reading the Christmas story in the Bible to them. In his free time, he enjoyed going on cruises and taking trips to the beach. He was also a big fan of the Carolina Panthers and the Atlanta Braves.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Keith (Louise) Noblitt; daughters, Kay (Stephen) Pruitt and Susan (Perry) Clontz; daughter-in-law, Judith Noblitt; step-sons, Ron (Dottie) Shinn and Jeff (Garla) Shinn; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2022 in the Chapel of Aldersgate in Charlotte, where Don has been a resident since 2014, with Rev. William Van Wieren III officiating. A reception will be held following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Midway United Methodist 708 South Main Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or to Memorial United Methodist Church, 4012 Central Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28205.
