Reverend Garland Faw

Reverend Garland Faw, 83, of Salisbury, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 8, 2021.  Reverend Faw was born, August 3, 1938 in Landis, North Carolina to the late Lester and Stella Faw.  He was a graduate of Landis High School, a business school graduate and a magna cum laude graduate of Tennessee Temple University.

Reverend Faw was a great man of faith, a pioneer in community relations, a brilliant business innovator, a pastor, an author and a visionary.  Reverend Faw pastored Terra Vista Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee for 14 years before accepting the call to his home state in North Carolina.  In 1972, Reverend Faw founded Truth Temple Church in Kannapolis where he pastored for the next 40 years.  During this time, Reverend Faw began a television ministry called “The Moment of Truth” reaching many with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Reverend Faw was the author of several books and songs. His favorite scriptures were John 3:30 and John 8:32. Rverend Faw's accomplishments in business include founder of Lincoln Log Homes and Country Road Log Homes.  As a result of his creativity and innovation, Reverend Faw obtained mulitple patents for log home designs.

Reverend Faw was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Kay Wilkinson Faw.  Family members left to cherish his memory are four daughters; Angela (Carl) Ford of China Grove, Sheila Igo of Salisbury, Andrea (Terry) Frieze of Nashville, Vanessa (Mark) Miles of Kannapolis; ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

Funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at 7pm, at City Revival Church in Kannapolis.  Visitation will precede the service from 5pm-7pm.  The service will be conducted by Pastor Bryn Waddell, Pastor Gary Posey and Reverend Don DeGrate.  Entombment will take place at 10:00 AM Monday at Rowan Memorial Park Mausoleum.
