Rev. Ronald Eugene Tucker, Sr., 71, of Kannapolis passed away July 21, 2020 at the VA Medical Center in Salisbury. He was born September 7, 1948 in Cabarrus County, a son of the late Gurley Burns Tucker and Pearl Rimer Tucker. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Paula Tucker and his daughter, Sherri Tucker.
Ronald was an evangelist for most of his life spreading the word of God. He also owned and operated his own septic tank business in the area for many years. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Vietnam War.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Renee Tucker, son, Ronnie Tucker and wife Tammy, step son, Jeff Lazenby and, wife Jeanine, grandchildren, Ronald Tucker III, Levi Tucker, John Thomas Morgan, Lillie, Emma and Holly, great grandchildren, Tegan, Theo, Aurora, Aleah, brothers, Ray Tucker, Gerald Tucker, Grady Tucker, Phillip Tucker and sisters, Nancy Milam and Cathy Hill.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, July 26, 2020 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Raymond Davis. Burial will follow at Zion Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. His family will receive friends prior from 2 to 4 at Whitley’s.
