Rhonda Williams Dillard

Obituary: Concord, NC- Rhonda Elizabeth Williams Dillard, age 47, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at her home with her family gathered around her after five years with a rare form of cancer. She was born May 12, 1969 in Rowan County, NC, the daughter of Jamie Williams Conner. Rhonda grew up in the Kannapolis area was a 1988 graduate of A.L. Brown High School. She also obtained a degree in business at Salisbury Business College. Rhonda was employed in banking for most of her life having worked at First Charter Bank, Fifth Third Bank, and later at the University Hilton hotel in accounting. She founded her own ministry program, Red Heart Ministries, which distributed Bibles within the area communities. Her family fondly remembers her love of cooking especially creating her own style of potato salad and deviled eggs. Rhonda is preceded in death by her grandparents, Harvey and Margie Lewis; and her step-father, Gene Conner. The funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 4:00 PM Friday, June 3, 2016 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, China Grove, NC. Burial will be at a later date. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home, Kannapolis, NC. Survivors include her husband of eighteen years, Joey Dillard; her sons, Mason McCorkle and Nicholas S. Dillard; her mother, Jamie Conner of Sharon, SC; and a sister-in-law, Laura Dillard of Concord, NC. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Church Cemetery Trust Fund, or St. Paul's Outreach Ministries, 811 Enochville Avenue, China Grove, NC 28023.
