Obituary: Richard Junior Britt beloved husband, father, brother and friend went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, September 14th, 2015 with his wife and children by his side singing God's praises as he was ushered into the presence of his heavenly father. He was a long time member of the Elm Street Church of God, later becoming the Kannapolis Church of God in Kannapolis, NC where he held many positions throughout the church as well as being on several state councils. Born October 1st, 1939 in Laurinburg, NC to the late Lonnie and Letha Britt. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Britt and a daughter, Debbie Britt, seven brothers, Wayne Britt, Bobby Britt, Otis Britt, Harris Britt, Buddy Britt, Jerry Britt and Jackie Britt, five sisters Altie Belle Britt, Geraldine Naylor, Nancy Rivenbark, Kay Gurganious, and Betty Jean Shalifour. He is survived by wife, Connie Britt of the home, Angela Wingler of Salisbury, Richard W. Britt (Crystal) of Mooresville, NC, Stuart Britt (Lisa) of Lexington, NC, Beverly Fine (Danny) of Lexington, NC, Travis Britt (Laci) of the home, Jason Britt (Tiffany) of Indian Trail, NC. He has 21 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, plus numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. He spent a majority of his life as an entrepreneur, mostly in the retail clothing industry. He was a master fisherman, a love that he passed down to his sons, he cherished his moments in his garden, a lifetime passion which produced much fruit. His favorite pastime was singing karaoke where he was a crowd favorite as well as winning multiple competitions where he was widely known as Re'chard. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Whitley's Funeral Home September 17th, 2015 at 10:00 am with the home going service immediately following at 11:00 am.
