Obituary: Richard James Edick, 64 of Kannapolis died unexpectedly Monday, August 2, 2010 at Lexington Medical Center, West Columbia, SC. Memorial services will be 6:00 P.M. Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel .The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. prior to the memorial service. At other times the family will be at the residence. Interment will be at a later date in Salisbury National Cemetery with military graveside rites. He was born June 29, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Floyd Edick and Ilene Fife. Prior to his retirement he was employed with Crowder Construction Company building bridges. He loved to ride his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was the youngest of nine siblings. Veteran of the US Army serving in Viet Nam. He was a Lifetime member of the American Legion in Tivoli, NY and a member of the VFW Post 9488 in Charlotte.. He is survived by a daughter: Regina Edick of Kannapolis, three Sons: Gerald Gallagher of Arizona, Sean Gallagher and wife Mimi of Mooresville, and Adam Amrod of Copake, New York. Four grandchildren: Sean, Mithiko and Zachary Gallagher and Jalen Mayhew. One Brother: John Edick of New York State, and former wife: Aubretia Edick of Hudson, NY.
