Richard Arlen Lewis

Obituary: Richard Arlen Lewis, age 84, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at his home. He was born May 7, 1930 in Davidson County, NC, the son of the late Grady Hill Lewis, Sr. and Fannie Mae McGee Lewis. Richard was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, April 20, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Mr. Bill Jolley. Inurnment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC with military rites conducted by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 PM Monday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include his son, Jim Arlen Lewis & wife, Donna of Chapel Hill, NC; his grandchildren, Victor and Meredith Lewis, both of Chapel Hill, NC ; two brothers, Donald Ray Lewis of Kannapolis, NC and Billy Lewis of Charlotte, NC.
