Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- Richard Walton Reynolds, age 76, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 20, 2010 at his home. He was born October 5, 1933 in Cabarrus County, NC, the son of the late Ed Reynolds and Brownie Rush Reynolds. He was employed with the former Fieldcrest-Cannon, Inc. Plt.#1 Bleachery Dept. for 39 years until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, NC. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Daphne Hale. The funeral will be 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Memorial United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Jim Brookshire. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, March 22, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Pauline Griffin Reynolds; two sons, R. Eric Reynolds & wife, Lynn F. Reynolds and Greg L. Reynolds, both of Kannapolis, NC; two grandchildren, Dustin Reynolds and Austin Reynolds; three brothers, Tom Reynolds and Bobby Reynolds, both of Charlotte, NC, and Danny Reynolds of Kannapolis, NC; two sisters, Alyene (Toots) Rary of Concord, NC and Carolyn Critz of Virginia.
