Richard Edward Shaver

Obituary: Richard Edward "Ed" Shaver, 65, of Baltimore, Md. has taken his last trip to be with his saving Lord on November 2, 2012. Ed was born July 3, 1947 in Portsmouth, Va. to the Ellen Frances Shaver of Kannapolis and the late Herman Linker Shaver. He was a graduate of Norview High School and Old Dominion University in Virginia. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict where he was a med tech. For 34 years he worked for the VA hospital in Baltimore, Md. as a psychiatric nurse. Ed has traveled the world widely and made many visits to see his mother in Kannapolis. In addition to his mother he is survived by his brother, Herman Francis "Frank" Shaver of Scaramento, Ca. Graveside services will be held 11:00 Saturday, November 10, 2012 at St. James Catholic Church Cemetery, Gold Hill Road, Concord, conducted by Rev. Father Joseph Dionne, C.S.S.R. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M. Friday, November 9, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the home of a cousin, Kimberly Crosby, 1355 Red Birch Road, Kannapolis.
