Richard Louis Stang

Obituary: Richard Louis Stang went home to be with The Lord on February 3, 2013 from his home. He was born November 30, 1917 in Shelby County, Ohio, the son of the late Roy L. Stang and Donna Marie Boyer Stang. Also preceded in death was a brother Paul Kenneth (Pete) Stang and a special poodle, Abbie. Early in life he was a farmer in Botkins, Ohio before moving to Lima, Ohio and retiring from Quinn's Paint Co. in 1980. He lived in Sarasota, FL and Knoxville, TN before moving to Kannapolis in 1995. He was a member of Charity Baptist Church on Brantley Rd. Kannapolis where a memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, February 9, 2013. Officiating the service will be Pastors Ron Bushey, Marty Payton, and R.J. Hammond. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 prior at the church. Survivors include wife Mary Sheridan Stang, Kannapolis, two daughters, Janice Stang (Dean) Davis, Kannapolis and Linda Stang (Bob) Casson, FL and a son Rick L. (Barbara) Stang, FL., five grandchildren-Sherrill Davis (Phil) Smith, KY, Kathy Davis (Joe) Vinciguerra, OH, Keith (Maureen) Davis, MO., Charles and Mitchell Albertson, AZ and eight great-grandchildren. Also two special poodles-Shiann and Kene' and a large church family that was very special to him. Memorials may be made to Charity Baptist Church Food Pantry (www.charitybaptistchurch.cc) 2420 Brantley Rd., Kannapolis or Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Nikki, Cindy, LuAnn (MSW) and LuAnn from the Hospice House for the special care they gave Richard and family in his final days. A very special thanks to Pastor Ron Bushey for all the support he gave Richard and his family.
