Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- Richard Edward Tucker, age 52, died Sunday, June 24, 2012 at his home after a lengthy illness of twelve years. He was born May 16, 1960 in Anchorage, Alaska, the son of George Tillman Tucker and the late Wiley Winona Russell Tucker. Richard was employed with Bluto Builders, Concord, NC for many years. Later, he was also self-employed as a carpenter. He loved NASCAR and loved Bill Elliott until Kasey Kahne came along. His family fondly remembers him as a loving father, grandfather, brother, and son. He had a good soul and loved to make people laugh. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Myron Lawson. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors in addition to his father include a daughter, Ashley Tucker Freeman & husband, Shaun of Salisbury, NC; two sisters, Pamela T. Kilpatrick of Kannapolis, NC and Mary Long of China Grove, NC; two brothers, George E. Tucker of Kannapolis, NC and Donald L.
