Richard Lee Wise

Obituary: Richard Lee Wise, 88, of 4876 Boy Scout Camp Road died on August 3, 2011. Richard was born on August 8, 1922 in Pittsburgh, PA the son of Alva Curtis Wise and Sarah Gertrude Keener Wise. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Don Wise and Jim Wise, 1st wife, Mary and 2nd wife Nola N. Wise.He served in WW-II in the U.S. Army and was a retired U.S. Postal worker in Dayton, Ohio. Richard was a member of Kannapolis Church of God. He volunteered for many years with Meals on Wheels & donated time and funds towards the building of Murdock Senior Center. Before his health declined Richard enjoyed singing in various area choirs, painting, ballroom dancing, and world travel. Richard's family will remember him as a kind and loving soul.Survivors include step-son Fred S. Trammell and wife Brenda. Step-grandchildren, Amy T. Green (Jeff) and Mark S. Trammell; step-great grandchildren, Jonathan Green, Justin Green, Amanda Trammell and Kristin Trammell; one nephew & two nieces. The funeral service for Mr. Wise will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, August 5, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Barbara Watkins with burial at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends at the funeral from 1-2 p.m. before the service.The family of Richard Wise would like to thank the staff of Caremoor Retirement Center for their care and kindness shown to Richard & his wife over the past 4 years.
Visitation: 1-2 p.m., Friday Aug. 5, 2011.

Service: 2 p.m., Friday August 5, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment: Carolina Memorial Park.
