Richard “Dick” Long, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on Friday, September 25, 2020, Richard “Dick” Garrett Long, loving husband, and father of three sons.
Dick was born on March 8, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Gilbert and Bess Long. He served in the US Marine Corps, during the Korean War. He raised three sons, Mike, Jim and David with his wife, Margaret of 66 years. Dick loved the outdoors, camping and fishing. He also enjoyed cars and everything to do with them. He was known for his fantastic sense of humor and a quick smile. He loved his family more than life itself.
He was preceded in death by a son David.
Dick is survived by his wife Margaret and two sons Mike and wife Deb and Jim and wife Rita. He had five grandchildren, Natalie Roseman and husband Chris, Brian Long and wife Stephanie, Lacy Andrews and husband Jeremy, Sarah Lunsford, and Bess-Margaret Long. He had 6 great- grandchildren, Jacob and Mackenzie Roseman, Garrett and Ezekiel Long, Taylor Hoffman, and Kaylee Vice.
Receiving of family and friends will be on Monday, September 28, 2020 from 1:00-2:00pm, followed by a memorial service at 2:00pm at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel.
