Richard "Dick" Allen Sargent

Richard Allen “Dick” Sargent, 75, of Kannapolis and formerly of Brockton MA, passed away on July 19, 2021 at his home with his family by his side.

A graveside service with military burial rites will be conducted at a later date in Bourne MA.

Dick was born on June 22, 1946 in Brockton MA, a son of the late Charles W. and Grace Bower Sargent. Dick was a veteran of the US Army. He worked in car sales all his life; in earlier years, he owned and operated AMS Auto Sales in Brockton. After his retirement, Dick moved to Kannapolis and worked for various local auto sales businesses; most recently, Cable Auto Sales in Kannapolis. Dick loved spending time by the ocean and he was an avid sports fan. The Patriots and the Red Sox were his favorite teams. Dick was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his 5 siblings and his son, Eric Sargent.

Those who are left to cherish his memory include his wife, Phyllis Meehan Sargent, of the home, his sons; Charles Sargent of MA and Bryan Sargent of GA, his daughter, Kimberly Taylor of Kannapolis and his 6 grandchildren, Alexis, Samantha, Arianna, Charles “C.J.”, Ashton and Bryce.
