Obituary: Ricky Dean Trexler, 44, of Rockwell went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 22, 2010 at his home. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday (Feb. 25, 2010) at Phaniels Baptist Church in Rockwell with Rev. Michael Taylor and Rev. Steve Ferguson officiating. His body will lie in state 30 minutes at church prior. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis on Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM. At other times the family will be at his parents' home, 755 Phaniels Church Rd., Rockwell. Ricky was born on August 27, 1965 in Concord to James and Emmie Trexler. He was of the Baptist faith where he loved Phaniels Baptist Church and Hillside Baptist Church in Albemarle. He had served as deacon at Phaniels. He loved his preachers. He loved good gospel music and loved to sing gospel music with his wife. He was devoted in reading God's word. He was a witness for Jesus Christ wherever he went and not ashamed of Him. He inspired a lot of people and led many to the Lord. He was a good friend and father figure. He owned and operated R.J.(Ricky and Jesus) Roofing Co. He was preceded in death by his grandmother and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 5 years, Elaine Trexler, whom he loved dearly, his son Peter Scott and his daughter Suzanne Holly. He is also survived by his sisters, Kim Trexler and Krista Watson.
