Ricky "Rick" Garland Treadaway, Jr.

Ricky “Rick” Garland Treadaway, Jr., 42, passed away on October 31, 2022.  Rick was born on December 27, 1979 in Charlotte, NC to Cheryl Thrift Benson and Ricky Garland Treadaway, Sr.

Rick proudly served his country as a Master Sergeant in the US Army retiring after 22 years of dedicated service. He has served at Fort Huachuca, SOCOM, US European Commands, Afghanistan and Fort Bragg.

Rick is survived by his beloved, Rebecca Johnson Treadaway; his sons, Jackson Champion, Grayson Michael Thrift Treadaway and Landon William Thrift Treadaway; his mother, Cheryl Thrift Benson and her husband Commander R.A. Benson, a man he loved and deeply respected; his father, Ricky Garland Treadaway, Sr.; brother Richard Treadaway, and sisters Stephanie and Kayla.  He is also survived by his aunt Susan Medlin and her husband Tom; his cousin, Katie Hewitt and many additional cousins and countless friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at Whitley’s Funeral Home, 1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd. Kannapolis from 11am to 1pm, with a funeral service celebrating his life at 1pm in the Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park with military honors.
