Riley Harley Brock

Obituary: Riley Harley Brock, age 67, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC surrounded by family and friends after battling cancer for many years. He was born May 3, 1947 in Chesterfield County, SC, the son of the late William Kenneth Brock and Catherine Gulledge Brock. Riley was employed as a painter for most of his life having worked with Joe Kidd Painting. His family fondly remembers his love of fishing, watching NASCAR racing, and spending quality time with his grandchildren and other family. He had a kind heart and was a very gentle person. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two sisters, Minnie Brock Tyner and Betty Joe Brock Phillips; and a granddaughter, Heather M. Harrington. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 1, 2014 at St. John Freewill Baptist Church, Patrick, S.C officiated by Pastor Bradley Seaton. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home. Survivors include his two daughters, Patricia B. Wilson & husband, Larry of Terrell, NC and Jennifer B. Harrington & husband, Eddie of Concord, NC; one sister, Lois F. Brock Boan of Kannapolis, NC; eight grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
