Rita Huffman Cheek

Obituary: Rita Ann Huffman Cheek, 69 of Kannapolis died Thursday March 24, 2016 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Her funeral services will be private. Rita was born February 1, 1947 in Catawba Co., a daughter of the late Vernon M. and Inez Edwards Huffman. She was 1 of 3 girls. Rita was a long-time area resident and loving wife of 50 years to Max L. Cheek. She worked at Cabarrus Eye Center and S&D Coffee in the 1980's, but was primarily a loving and devoted homemaker to her family. She was an avid sewer, knitter, and quilter. She enjoyed time spent with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Rita will be fondly remembered and dearly missed. In addition to her husband, Max, Rita is survived by her son, Mitchell Cheek (Crystal) of Kannapolis and her daughter, Amy Miller (Mike) of Landis and her 2 grandchildren, Darian and Ariel Miller.
