Rita Kay Jackson

Rita Kay Brumley Jackson, 65, of Enochville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

Rita was born on June 19, 1959 in Iredell County. She was a cherished daughter of the late Carl Brumley and Ellen Harrington Brumley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-son, Donald Wayne Jackson.  

Rita loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. One of her greatest pleasures was spending afternoons at the movies with her grandson, always excited to watch whatever he chose. She was a devoted dog lover. She loved her time with Hoss and Dottie and found joy in coloring and playing on her iPad.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Harry “Donnie” Jackson; children, Jessica Moon, Jackie James (Randi), Jerry James, and step-daughter, Amanda Mayfield (Ty); grandchildren, Tyler Hill (Brittany), Adam Jackson, Sunny Moon, Hannah Cook, Jordan Jackson, Allie James, Tyler James, Braden Mayfield, Brennen Mayfield, and Kayann Mayfield; great-granddaughter, Addison Hill; sister Patricia Carey; and brother, Jeff Brumley (Elaine).

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis. The funeral service will begin at 2:00pm in the chapel with Rev. Mike Edwards officiating. Interment will immediately follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
