Obituary: Robert Lee Almendinger, 73, of Concord, NC passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Tucker Hospice House after a brief illness. A memorial service will be held at Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church at 5:00 PM on Thursday, April 4th with Rev. Carrie Bishop officiating. The family will receive friends at the church after the memorial service. Robert was born on January 5, 1940 in Prospect, OH the son of the late Clifford H. and Betty Cameron Almendinger. He was a veteran of the US Army and retired from Whirlpool Corp. in Marion, OH after 37 years of service. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 37 years, Janis Rife Almendinger; his step-daughter, Aimee Springer-Peacock and husband Larry of Concord, NC; his daughter, Penni Almendinger of Prospect, OH; his sister, Mary Ann Emmons of LaRue, OH; his niece and nephew, Julie and Travis Emmons and many other loving relatives.
