Robert "Bob" Boone

Robert K. “Bob” Boone, 66 years old of Rockwell, NC past away on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Atrium, Concord after an extended illness surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born April 20, 1957 in Fairfield County, SC to Kenneth L. Boone and Nancy Poston Boone.

Bob grew up in Kannapolis, NC and graduated for A. L. Brown High School, class of 1975.  He worked in the heating and air condition industry for various employers until 1996 when he opened Boone Mechanical Services until retirement in 2008.

Bob had a love for music and started playing drums at an early age.  Through the years, he was the drummer for various country/rock bands in the area.  His last gig was the drummer for Morning Rock praise band at Ebenezer Lutheran Church.

Bob loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He loved fishing for crappie with his dad at Lake Wateree, SC, and his brother, Paul at Lake Norman.  His friends gave him the nickname of “Crappie Master” because he always caught the most fish at the end of the day.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth L. Boone; sister, Susan B. Keating; nephew, Brandon Williams, great nephew, Chevy J. Petrea; brother-in-law, Bud Wade.  Those left to cherish is memory are his wife of 32 years, Sue Faggart Boone; daughter Bobbi I. Boone, Statesville; mother, Nancy Poston Boone; sister, Jerilyn (Sis) Wade; brother, Paul A. Boone (Betsy) all of Concord; niece and nephews, and his very special dog son, Henry.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 1, 2023 from 6 – 8 pm at Whitley’s Funeral Home.  There will be a celebration of Life on Tuesday May 2, 2023 at 3 pm at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, China Grove, NC.  There will be a visitation in the fellowship hall after the celebration of life service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 4914 Old Beaty Ford Road, China Grove, NC.
