Obituary: Robert Carroll Burris, 48, of Salisbury died Tuesday, April 12, 2016. He was born September 7, 1967 in Cherokee County, the son of Celia Ann Boyd of Rockwell and the late Henry Cleo Burris. Robert was employed as a roofer for many years. He liked cooking, grilling outdoors, fishing and traveling, especially to the mountains. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 PM Monday, April 18, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at 3:00 at Sunset Cemetery officiated by Rev. Mike Hubbard. He is survived by his mother and step father, Celia and George Boyd, daughter, Cassidy Faith, three brothers, James "Shike", Wayne and Billy Burris, sister, Lisa Lackey, 4 step sisters, Sonya, Glynis, Faith and Cathy, 2 step brothers, Scott and Tommy and many other relatives and friends.
