Robert Lee Ervin, Jr.

Robert Lee “Bob” Ervin, Jr. age 77, of Concord passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Atrium Health Cabarrus after a battle with Covid.

His funeral will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, April 10 at Whitley’s Funeral Chapel with Rev. Philip Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 to 4:00 PM  Sunday. Private burial will follow at the Salisbury National Cemetery at a later date.

Bob was born January 25, 1945 in Cabarrus Co., a son of the late Robert Ervin, Sr. and Mamie Irene Dayvault Ervin. He moved to Norfolk as a child with his family when his dad was in the Navy. Bob was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War. After being discharged, Bob worked in the oil fields in the Middle East as a dredger and a mechanic. Later Bob and his wife, Jillian owned and operated B. J. R. Cleaning Services. He was a loving and caring husband and father; who’s family always came first. His grandson, Phoenix was “his Heart”

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jillian Duarte Ervin of Concord, his son Robert L. Ervin III (Stephanie) of Concord and grandson, Phoenix Ervin; his brothers John Ervin (Kathleen) of Concord and Don Ervin (Catherine) of Kannapolis; his nieces,  Amy Lynn Ervin (Rodney Power) of High Rock Lake, Amber Nicole Ervin-Ball (Chris) of Mooresville, his nephews, David Ervin (Robin) of Asheville, Paul Ervin (Paula) of Kannapolis, 4 great-nephews and 3 great-nieces as well as other loving relatives.

A reception will immediately follow Sunday evening’s funeral service at New Life Fellowship Church 4065 Poplar Tent Rd., Concord, NC 28027. All are invited.
