Robert Houser

Obituary: Robert Lee "Tankerman" Houser, Sr., 76, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at CHS-Northeast Medical Center in Concord. Born November 16, 1941 in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late James Marshall David Houser and Maude Bivens Houser. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Jeanette Houser; sisters, Linda Plummer and Sarah Petty; brothers, Buddy and James Kanipe; and a grandson, Gary Stager, Jr. Mr. Houser had retired as a tanker truck driver, after nearly fifty years of service. A loving father, grandfather and brother, he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Loving family members include his children, Robert Lee Houser, Jr., Tommy Houser (Melody), Bobby J. Houser (Donna) and Teresa Kistler (Phil); his sisters, Alene Smith, Lisa Canupp (James) and Judy Michael; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family members. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, June 7, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Whitley's Funeral Home. Services to remember and celebrate the life of Mr. Houser will begin at 12 noon Friday, June 8th at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Pastors Bill Perkins and Rex Burleson.
