Robert Sam Jones

Robert Sam Jones, 83 of Kannapolis passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Accordious Healthcare of Mooresville.

Robert was born on December 29, 1940 in Laurel Hill, North Carolina to the late Sam B. Jones and the late Clara Ethel Carpenter Jones.

Robert was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Kannapolis.  Robert worked at Cannon Mills in service in the Weave room, starting as a lay-up hand and advanced to Electro-Mechanic until his retirement.  He loved his grandson’s and his great-granddaughters as well as all of his family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son; David W. Jones (Anna) of Kannapolis, two grandsons; Gillon Jones (Leila) and John Jones (Bethany), four great-granddaughters; Elsie, Emilie, Adelaide and Georgia Jones, and one brother; Ted Jones.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 PM on Saturday May 25, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church, 703 Buick Avenue, Kannapolis, NC  28083, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Gil Jones officiating.  Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, 601 Mt. Olivet Road, Concord, NC  28025.
