Obituary: Roberta Carey Hargett, 92, of Royston GA, formerly of Kannapolis died Monday, August 20, 2012 at Brown Memorial Convalescent Center in Royston after a period of declining health. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 22 at Carolina Memorial Park. Roberta was born October 17, 1919 in Royston GA, a daughter of the late Talmadge and Bertie Carithers Carey. She moved to Kannapolis in the 30's to work for Cannon Mills and she met and married James A. Hargett and raised her family, then moved back to Royston in the late 1980's. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband,2 brothers, her sister and her son, Lester Lee Hargett. Survivors include her sons; James W. Hargett of N. Myrtle Beach, Bobby Hargett (Becky) of Kannapolis and her daughter, Frances Ellen Hamm of Concord. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
