Obituary: Rodrick Allen Sutton, 63, of Kannapolis died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from complications of diabetes and heart disease. His family will celebrate Rodrick's life, receiving friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday, May 6, at First Baptist Church in Kannapolis. Rodrick was born on Dec. 27, 1954 in Elyria OH, a son of Glen W. and M. Frances Sutton. He was preceded in death by his son, Mykhayl Wolfegang Sutton in June of 2016. He was an army veteran, serving in Korea during the Vietnam War. Rodrick was an alumnus of Glenville State College in W. Va. His goals in life were to retire to W. Va., hunt, fish, enjoy his granddaughters and live life to the fullest! Rodrick was a Registered Land Surveyor and he owned and operated his own surveying company- AccuTech Surveying and Mapping, LLP. The senior members of First Baptist Church were very dear to his heart. He would provide them with fresh produce thru out the growing season as a gesture of love and to repay them for all they have done. Those left to cherish his memory including his parents are his wife, Catrinia Neal Sutton; his son, Aristotle C. Sutton (Hayley Duckett); his granddaughters, Emerie Rose "Possum" Sutton and Skylah "Pocahontas" Phillips; his sister, Sherry Ortiz (Jim) and special friends, Dewayne and Terri Ligget and Chad Byrd and many nieces and nephews.
