Roger Whitley

Obituary: Roger Odell Whitley, 63, of Rockwell passed away Saturday December 10, 2016 at his residence following a period of declining health. Roger was born June 21, 1953 in Stanly County, NC a son of the late Lester and Shelby Jean Shepherd Whitley. Roger was a self-employed master carpenter. He enjoyed drawing and painting. Survivors include his wife of 25 ½ years, Geraldine Anderson Whitley of the Home, two step-daughters, four step-sons, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Two nieces and nephews also survive. Also surviving is a sister, Karen Crenshaw of Kannapolis. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 15th, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev.Marty Peyton Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 14, 2016. At other times they will be at the residence.
