Obituary: Ronald Curtis Almond, 67, of Kannapolis, NC died at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis on Friday, June 16, 2017. Ronald was born on Dec. 3, 1949 in Cabarrus Co. a son of the late Curtis Monroe Almond and the late Hattie Christine Purser Almond. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Billie Laura Gibbons Almond who died Dec. 14, 2010. Ronald was a graduate of A.L. Brown High and worked for Fieldcrest Cannon Mills for seven years. He later worked doing taxes for The Cabarrus County Senior Center and then as an agricultural farmer. Ronald also enjoyed setting up at the local farmer's markets. The funeral service for Mr. Almond will take place at 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 19th at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel conducted by Rev. William Hamby and Rev. Duane Melton. Burial will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The family will receive friends Sunday night, June 18th at Whitley's Funeral Home. Survivors include his daughter, LeeAnn Almond of Kannapolis and a very special friend, Bonnie Troutman Rawls.
