Obituary: Ronald E. Bushey Sr., 82 of Concord, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018 at his home, and because of his faith in Jesus Christ went to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior. He was born March 27, 1935, in Franklin, VT to the late Vincent E. Bushey and Marion Anna (Tatro)Bushey. Ron served his country in the U.S. Army and after returning from a tour in Korea, he met the woman he would love for the rest of his life. Shortly after marrying Evelyn Duff, he took a job with IBM Corporation in Burlington Vermont. Ron's career spanned 30 years at 5 different locations before retiring in Charlotte, N.C., as a functional manager in 1987. Ron made many friends through his career at IBM. A few years after retiring the Lord called him into full time ministry. First at Young Memorial Church and then continuing at Charity Baptist Church until his death. Ron also served as a Police Chaplin. Ron served in many ministry areas and always enjoyed working for the Lord and sharing his love to others. One significant ministry area was "Project Lighthouse", where Ron coordinated regular weekly meals for community servants such as Police, Fire and rescue, EMT's, etc. Ron had a heart and a passion for those in need and also started a "Food Pantry" ministry and personally devoted himself to ensuring food collections, packaging and provisioning on a weekly basis, to those who might be in need. Along the way, he made multitudes of many more friends through his service to the Lord. He also loved fishing and being outdoors. He was a devoted, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Carlton, Richard, Ed, and Don Bushey, two sisters, Jan Bushey Sumner, and Betty Bushey Gignac, three granddaughters, and one great grandson. Those left to cherish his memory, his wife Evelyn Bushey, four children, Ronald E. Bushey Jr., Marion V. (Bushey) Asselin, Pamela D. (Bushey) Cooley, Robert W. Bushey, nine grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 6:30 PM, Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Charity Baptist Church with Rev. Marty Payton, and Rev. Beaver Hammond.
