Ronald Crook

Obituary: Ronald Paine Crook, 79 of Concord, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014 at CMC-Northeast following a brief illness. Mr. Crook was born in Union County on October 3, 1934 a son of the late Brice and Bertha Helms Crook. He was formerly employed by Duff-Norton in Charlotte where he was a machinist. Mr. Crook was a member of Gilwood Presbyterian Church, and a veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed sports and especially loved being with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed. Funeral services for Mr. Crook will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, January 27, 2014 at Gilwood Presbyterian Church with Rev. Alan Buckner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM prior to the services at church on Monday. Whitley's Funeral Home is assisting the Crook family. Mr. Crook is survived by his wife; Betty Smith Crook of the home, sons; Ronald Dale Crook of Concord, Phillip Payne Crook and wife Tammy of Statesville, brother; Bobby Cook, and a sister; Brenda Crook Carnes and husband Jerry; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to: Gilwood Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 2993 Odell School Rd., Concord, NC 28027.
