Ronald Franklin Dunn

Obituary: Ronald Franklin Dunn, 78, of Kannapolis passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014 at his residence following a period of declining health. Ronald was born August 10, 1935 in Spaulding Co. Ga., son of the late Willie Frank Dunn and Doris Coleman Dunn. He was an active member of the Cabarrus County Master Gardner's Club. He retired from Eshelman Carolinas of Charlotte. Ronald was a twenty year retiree of the Georgia National Guard. He was a member of American Legion Post 115, a member of the 40 and 8 and was of the Baptist Faith. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Private services will be held at a later date. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Emily B. Dunn of the home, daughter, Dr. Linda Dunn Clarke and husband Barry M. Clarke of Arcadia, Fla., and brother William Gerald Dunn of Charlotte. He is also survived by special friends: Bobby and Sue Ramsey of Clemmons, David and Jeri Harrison and Brian Ramsey of Charlotte, Richard and Elizabeth Kirk and sons Gabriel and Joshua of Clarksville, Tn. and Sylvia and Michael Clarke of Hatfield, England. In Lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Cabarrus County Humane Society, 2010 Wilshire Ct SW, Concord, NC 28025, the American Heart Association, Mid-Atlantic Affiliate, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, Va.23060 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
