Obituary: Ronald Jackson, age 58, of Salisbury went to be with his Lord on Thursday, February 20, 2014. His death was unexpected. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday, February 25 at Whitley's Funeral Chapel with Rev. Randy Lefler officiating. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 6:00 to 7:00 PM prior to the funeral. Ron was born July 27, 1955 in Cabarrus Co., a son of the late Vance and Diane Tate Jackson. He was a long-time area resident. Ron was a truck driver and small business operator and a devoted Christian, attending Universal House of Prayer in Concord. He loved fishing, golfing, singing and making people laugh with his stories. Ron was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Gloria Grooms Jackson of the home, his children; Johnny M. Jackson of China Grove, Melissa Pruitt (Jeff) of Rockwell and Timothy A. Jackson of Concord, his grandchildren; Brittany N. Alverson and Joshua Avery Milam. He is also survived by his brother Larry Jackson of Concord, his mother-in-law, Sara Grooms of Kannapolis, his sister-in-law, Sherry Furr (Randy) of Rockwell, his 2 brothers-in-law; Marty Goodale and David Grooms, both of Kannapolis and many other beloved relatives.
