Ronald Edward Lawing

Ronald Edward Lawing, 85 of Kannapolis, passed away, Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Tucker Hospice House.
He was born May, 22, 1935 in Cabarrus Co. to the late Leonard Edward Lawing and Ruth Inez Norris Lawing.
Ronald was a veteran of the U.S. Army, he retired from Field Crest Cannon after many years of service. He enjoyed fishing and watching Kyle Busch in NASCAR, but most of all he loved his family and spending time with them and making memories.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Irene Lawing, a grandson Jason Salter, brother, Donald Webster Lawing, sister, Dell Raye Benfield, and brother, Steven Lane Lawing.
Those left to cherish his memory, daughter Linda Salter and her husband Andre’ of Kannapolis, son, Mark Lawing and his wife Sharon of Kannapolis, six grandchildren Brandi Smith, Erin Galletto, Mark Yow, Natalie Tipton, Zack Lawing, Haley Lawing, eight great-grandchildren, and one sister Kay Hicks.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Upright officiating, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park with Military Honors.
A visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Tuesday prior to the service at Whitley’s Funeral Home.
