Ronald Eugene Mccormick, Sr.

Obituary: Ronald Eugene McCormick, Sr., age 72, of Davidson, NC, formerly of Altoona PA, died peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 3, 2011 after a long battle with cancer.Mr. McCormick was born July 11, 1939 in Greenwood PA, a son of the late C.A. and Katherine Peightal McCormick. Ronald attended Altoona High School and worked as a telephone Lineman for Penn Line Services and S & S until he retired in 1997. He moved with his wife to North Carolina to be near his children. He enjoyed hunting racing, auctions and motorcycles. Ronald was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed.In addition to his parents, Mr. McCormick was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Shirley Himes McCormick and his brother, Bob McCormick and 3 step-children.Survivors include his wife of 38 years Lindsay Little McCormick and sons; Ronald McCormick, Jr. and wife, Elaine and Charles McCormick and wife, Deborah all of Davidson, and daughter, Lori Soult and husband, Dan of Concord and step-son, Art Leighty. He is also survived his granddaughter, Danielle Soult and grandson Darick Leighty and several other loving relatives.
Visitation: 6-8 PM Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011 and 9 -10 AM Monday, Nov. 7 at Mauk Yates Funeral Home, Altoona PA
