Ronald “Ronnie Mac” Eugene McNeely, 71, of Salisbury, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 4, 2021.
Ronnie Mac was born on June 6, 1949 in Mooresville, to the late James Leo McNeely and Annie Louise Karriker McNeely, who survives.
Ronnie Mac honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He worked as a forklift operator for Freightliner for over 20 years. In his free time, he loved to ride his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, shoot guns, and watch NASCAR and drag racing. He was a member of American Legion Samuel C. Hart Post #14 for over 40 years. He also loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and ballgames.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Sandy McNeely; daughter, Tammy (Joe) Capetillo; son, Casey (Brandy) Haithcox; step-son, Ryan Deason; mother, Ann McNeely; five grandchildren, Jessica (Adam) King, Nathaniel Capetillo, Jonathan Capetillo, Cody Haithcox, Caleb Haithcox; one great-grandchild, Magnus King; brother, Terry (Alma) McNeely; sister, Lori (Jim) Myers; and dear friend, Betty Applegate.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Whitley’s Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Whitley’s Funeral Home with Kirk Sams and Rev. Brian Duncan officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Legion Samuel C. Hart Post #14, 5865 S Main St., Salisbury, NC 28147.
